you went to work drunk on purpose

no i didn't and i wont again! it just happen once and not again! Marines Drink to get away from all thier prblems! we have just as much and even more thatn most people! you kill someone and see how you feel!

That kind of thinking is why the VA Hospital, where I worked, had a very long waiting list for its drug and alcohol rehab program.

I do not take anything in this thread as people wanting to make you feel anything. You feel what you feel. We don't make you do anything.

If you post in a public forum... it becomes open to comment. You chose what you wrote and we had nothing to do with that. Had your explanation or "tone" been different, I would expect your response would have been much different as well. Sadly, I did not see anything humorous or relatable in what you posted. JMO

Sadly... I did.

For a while there, I had everyone fooled. Myself included.
My ex thought that bottle of Jim Beam on the top of the fridge was the same one that was there two months before. She had no clue it had changed over 6 to 8 times or more... I even managed to pass a few field sobriety tests too. My friends and family knew nothing much until I tried to stop drinking one day and I was found unconscious on my living room floor having seizures. That was the first of many hospital stays, and near death experiences over alcohol.

These phenomena the op speaks of, are kind of a necessary component to being a good alcoholic.

I didn't see any catty remarks. The truth hurts. Alcoholism is serious. Marines going to work drunk is serious. We can't laugh with him and tell him we think it's so cool that he went to work drunk. That would be a disservice to all parties.

If I said something like that I would get a warning...oh wait, I did.
