Something Special

Into the darkness,
Beyond the murky depths of pain,
Reaching out your gentle hand,
You kept me warm and safe.

Though you never really saw me,
You felt my soul at least,
So weak and very fragile,
I thought I'd die in peace.

The gentle words you gave
Were just whispers on the wind,
Never had I thought
They'd come back and try to win.

You never saw my tears,
For those wells have long ran dry.
I heard you weeping in the darkness
Though I wondered why.

You stirred the stuff inside me
As I tried to force you go....
And here I sit and wonder
Why now emotions flow.

You cracked the very stone
I made to hold my heart,
And never would you stop,
Until it fell apart.

You walked right through the illusions
And deceptions formed without.
You never gave a chance
To give freedom to my doubt.

You never heard my lies
As you made me face your truth,
Though freely I could go,
My freedom wasn't true.

You opened up the windows
And kissed the blindness from my eyes
Forcing me to see
What lies within the light.

You said you weren't an angel
Yet I know without a doubt,
You're something very special
I could never live without.
