I have recorded many phone conversations, but you have to be aware of the laws surrounding your area when you do so. For example. Missouri allows you to record a conversation with another person on the phone as long as you are a party to it, without informing the other person you are recording it. Illinois does not allow you to record any conversation over the phone, even if you are a contributing party without informing them that you are recording it. Recording conversations across state lines just adds to the mess. Just be careful, and do your research first as not only will the recording be inadmissible in court if you broke the law, but you may also find yourself facing criminal charges

then why the question? The last thing I would want floating around on the web is information that I was going to do something, and give people warning. I assume this is in regards to your stalker ex. If he is as much of a stalker as you say he is then you are only giving him information that he does not need to know

Yeah I recorded my ex husband yelling and threatening while we were going through divorce 10 years ago... I played it for his attorney and suggested that he agree to the terms. I would consider not to submit this as evidence in court. Needless to say I got a fair agreement.
