The sky is dark as night,
Only one star is bright
Trying to give me light.
It is a nice thought,
But my eyes, they see not.
Surronded by blackness,
Left alone in my sadness.
To think of my wayward deed,
Whatever they might be.
I tried to love you true,
What more could i do?
You've always held my heart
From the beginning, the start.
I changed for you,
Now it is all through.
Because you were untrue.
In another's bed you now lay,
And alimony you want me to pay.
You should be the one in shame,
But it is me that you blame.
What wrong did i do?
Was it blindly loving you?
I guess it must have been.
Thinking i want my life to end.
In my sadness i sit and mope,
But the faint little star gives me hope.
No matter how much blackness surronds it,
It keeps on shining, it never quits.
I'll be like that little star,
and one by one, i'll erase these memory scars.
