Who has tried long distance dating, how far were you from each other and how did it work out?

Just wonderin'

I did, 1000 miles and HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And here is what I learned, one may not lie but the perspective of their own reality may not be reality at all. AND NOTHING MATTERS UNTILL YOU LOOK THEM IN THEIR EYES AND SPEND TIME WITH THEM IN THE REAL WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried that three times in 2006, the distances ranged from 300 - 600 miles, and they were all worse than being eaten by an allosaurus with a migraine.

The new policy is I limit the distance to six blocks. Which is going to be a problem because the only people within six blocks are farm animals, but I haven't got all the details worked out yet.

Well, goats are kinda cute if you really look at them....

Well, Jon and I are 2,557 miles apart and we are making this work. We first met in Baltimore, then I spent Thanksgiving with him and his family. He just came out and spent a week with me and my daughter..............oh....yeah....he also proposed on his trip here!! So I think things are working out quite well!!!

The key to this is using every medium that you can think of to keep in touch. We are on the computer just about every night, on Yahoo chat. We send e-mails and text a ton to each other.

I'm with you on that.. except the texting part. I am so happy about my phone plan having that "favorites" opition... I know we burn up more than 3000 minutes a month.

exactly. If you squat down, my pygmies will jump right on your back. If you lay on your stomach, they will happily jump all over your back.

They don't have good control over bodily functions, tho....

I moved to OK from KY after a LDR. It ended 10 months later mainly because we couldn't get to know each other well enough doing the weekend romance thing.

I won't say I would never do it again since I have found crow does not taste very good.

Three things to consider:
1. Financial resources to be able to see each other.
2. Emotional/mental security to be able to trust the other person.
3. Ultimately, someone has to move.

i was in a LDR with a guy who lived almost 4,000 miles away and was 6 hours behind me in time.

it did not last because he cheated and lied to me.

but then again, this relationship would not have lasted if he had lived closer for the same reasons. noway
