Topic: It's about respect | |

Is there such a fine line between respect and disrespect, because you wouldn't treat someone you didn't know well with disrespect until they proved worthy of your respect would you? |

I have seen a lot of post in the threads about respect some make it sound like we should respect people just for being a person. I think respect is something that must be earned. And should only be given to people who are respectable. ( Decent, law biding , good hearted people who's actions do not harm others ) If we respect a person just for being a person. Then respect really has no meaning or value. That is what I think. How about you do you agree or disagree. I RESPECT EVERYONE ALWAYS, UNTIL they SHOW ME DISRESPECT! IF I or WE follow YOUR ideailissom, this below would be the case If WE don't openly respect EVERYONE,,,then hello to stranger, NO REPLY. Man in front of you leaving the store, hold the door for YOU,,,,HELL NO,,WHY? Being NICE and PLESANT to PEOPLE HERE, STRANGERS,,,hell no, WHY?? |

I understand what you are saying However your example refers to common courtesy. not respect and just like respect disrespect should not be given until earned |

I understand what you are saying However your example refers to common
courtesy. not respect and just like respect disrespect should not be given until earned BUT, how can MOST carry ANY common courtesy, IF THEY DON'T CARRY COMMON RESPECT???? Just my true thoughts,,,as to ME. BOTH are the same in people. To say common courtesy, is like, common respect.... |

I can respect babies for the same reason. i don't simply show babies common curtesy |

I will respect a person no matter what. If they are nice or mean to me, I will respect either way. Respect does not have to be earned by me.
