I hope I get a schedule that I can wake up the same time every day. this 9 am on the weekends and 11 in the week is getting on my nerves

just don't start spreading Rice-O-Roni all over the place, or else liz will have to break out the vacuum cleaner. and nobody wants to see liz break out with that, you know.

How are things today???

gotta pick my pop up at the airport later tonight. we had a death in the family (my gramma) over the weekend and i had to send my pop to chicago. thank goodness he got to see her one last time before she passed on.

that's about it, though. so sue me.

Sorry to hear about your Gramma...

Well... we all have to go sometime... she just had to go early this past Saturday morning. She died of pulmonary fibrosis too, which has got to be one of the worst things to get as far as I'm concerned- she was literally suffocating herself to death as her lungs weren't permitting carbon dioxide to be expelled. Pretty harsh stuff.

The worst part was the whole last-minute nature of what happened. I got a call from my uncle asking that my pop fly out to see her, as there was no indication of what was gonna happen- she was that close. It's a good thing I flew him out there when I did, as he would never have been able to see his mother one last time otherwise.

I shoulda went with him, but plane ticket prices were friggin' outrageous (the cheapest prices I could find were $704 for a round-trip, one-way ticket), and I just couldn't swing the $1500 for two tickets- I just couldn't hack the costs. So I had to settle for just sending him out, instead.

I guess that will be something I'll have to answer for when it's my turn to head to those pearly gates. IF I end up going that way, that is.

So yeah- it's been one of THOSE weekends.
