isn't odd enough, a "homeless" person asks for some spare change and your date obliges them. What do you think of your date's decision?

my first thought would be

"well i just bought her dinner,so if a homeless man can get spare change from her, maybe i can get a little somethin' somethin'"

I would watch his body language & see if he made eye conntact with the person as well as giving them money.

My best friend is a trucker. There's a lot of scamming going on around truck stops, & he's always getting blasted for helping people. He often buys people dinner & he sits with them & listens also. He told me this...

" If someone asks me for help & they don't really need it, shame on them, but what harm have I done? But if someone who is truly in need asks me for help, & I am able to help, but don't, what kind of person does that make me?"

I was one of the people he helped, 6 years ago. We are like brother & sister now. His mother calls me her adopted daughter. I am thankful I have had many oppourtunities to show him my love & gratitude, & he says he needed me that night as much as I needed him. We had both reached a low point & we got each other through it.

You may never know what a small kindess to a stranger may mean to them, & how it may come back to you. I always stop to help people. If I don't feel safe, I speak through a cracked window & locked door, but I won't drive past a person that may need help. When they thank me I always tell them to do the same for the next person they see in trouble.

I believe kindness is contagious, & so is apathy. Which do you want to spread?

I say my date can do whatever he wants with his money.

Yep same here.

Although, me living and working in the city for a long time. I wouldn't give crap to the ones in my old neighborhood. They were greedy asses.grumble

I know a guy that hangs around the Akron U area of town, he looks shabby and asks for money, HE DRIVES A CADDY, a really nice one. He parks it around the corner, one night I saw him getting into it after a show we did.

I knew a girl in High school, she was a few years older than me, very cute girl, she would tell people she was out of gas, she got about a hundred bucks a day doing this.

So is that loose change going for food like they say, or is it going to feed either a habit of somesort, or a car payment???

I liked the woman's response who said she has McDonalds gift certificates in her purse.... that's your best bet, and watch the faces of the people when you give it to them.... That will tell you their true intentions....

No doubt Lily. I walked out of a Ruby Tuesdays downtown one night with leftovers. This man came and asked for money and I asked him what for, he said food. And I said well here, and gave him my leftovers (which I didn't even touch) and I watched as he took them and went to the trash and threw it away.grumble grumble

My ex husband and I were in Tower City in Cleveland one night before a baseball game and we had gotten 2 orders of fries, and only ate one and a guy came up, we gave him the fries we hadn't eaten, and he did the same thing....grumble grumble

I look at it this way, I know for a FACT there are homeless shelters in my area and in the summer they do NOT fill up, so I may be a bit more generous in the winter, but in the summer, I'm not as generous. There are places to go, but if you are unwilling to "go by the rules" and be there at a certain time, then you really arn't as despirate as you would like people to think.

If my date wants to hand out money that's fine, I don't think one way or the other about it. But if I am being judged because I don't... that tells me more about you than it does about me.

I'd think that they just contributed to the "Homeless crack and/or liver damage fund". And that's kewl...it helps to kill them off faster which makes more room for the rest of us smokin
WOW u always this positive?

I actually watch how my date treats people. So if he didn't give that homeless person any change, I think I would and I don't think I would go on another date with him! It would show me that he doesn't have any kind of compassion at all. Some times people have bad luck and they need a little bit of help...nothing wrong with helping someone out!! Have a heart!!

I would love it if my date did that, it means he cares about more than just his self. I would probably definately want to go on another date with him.
