I don't think I've ever seen a movie that's better than the book. There are a few that are comparable, like "The Shining" and "Gone with the Wind."

Dreamcatcher by Steven King. The book was great and better than the movie in many ways, but the movie actually had a good ending. The ending of the book was just annoying.

I have only read one book where the movie equaled it. Stephen King's The Green Mile. Both were excellent.

Gosh, I love the book, Rebecca" by Daphney DeMaunier.

And I like the movie too.

Except for the fact that the script did not show the real Rebecca - the way her husband and Mrs Danvers described her in the book.

The addition of those details and a clear description of the life that Maxim and his nameless new wife had after the firey destruction of Manderlay would have made this movie perfect.
