Well, finally heard back from the surgeon. She looked at his MRI, along with another pediatric surgeon (the bone surgeon) and a different radiologist. They all agree it is a piece of bone that grew irregularly. It's nothing to worry about and nothing needs to be done about it. I asked if she was absolutely 100% sure and she said yes, they were all sure. So, it's done, thank God. As for why it didn't show in the original xray, she said if the xrays were off in their view by even a slight bit, it might not show, which is apparently what happened.

Just cut and pasted that from an e-mail to my family. Thank you guys so much for all your concern and prayers, you will never know how much it meant to me. Love you guys!
