I hate when guys are condesending to women, and believe me I grew up with all guys I know how they interact with women, especially in a heated topic. I will butt in on that, can't help it, because generally guys either pretend it doesn't happen or they say nothing.

I would expect that you would see it that way though, TJ. If he thought she was taking it out of context why didn't he just leave it well enough along and ignore it. We shouldn't have to just sit and take that. But we are also adults, we should be able to get a little hot under the collar and still work it out in the end. If not then we just move on.

I'd have no problem with him if it were not for his delivery. I dont' much care what his political views are, we are all used to people having different views on the government, but it's just his bedside manner so to speak.

Racists that I know personally often hide the fact that they are, and also some have social friends that are black, but yet you catch them unguarded moment and they spout some pretty racist remarks that you'd have to be deaf not to notice.

Spider doesnt' know what was in Rush's head when he made his remarks, nor do I. So that is what I say I don't know for a fact if he is or not, but if one sounds racist your going to get a backlash anyway. Geezuz, Now I am paranoid about not being clear.. lol

I don't know why he would even take a chance on being misinterpreted in a racist way, but then maybe money has a lot to do with it. I am sure you don't think Rush's audience doesn't have any racists in it. He knows what appeals to different segments of his audience, but is careful not to go too far. Just like here in my town were it's over run with dogs and cats. And only a few of us who were not responsible for thier homelessness end up caring for them, fixing them and finding them homes.

According to Tommy Tuvunger with the Stockholm Traffic Office, the agency responsible for controlling the city’s rodent and wild animal population, part of the problem rests with delinquent pet owners who decide to release their rabbits into the city’s parks.

“Many of the released rabbits are tame,” he told the newspaper.

Animal control authorities employ a special rifle to shoot the excess rabbits, with most of the culling taking place at dawn when the animals peek out from their holes.

The city usually steps up its rabbit hunting efforts in the autumn as leaves begin to fall from bushes and trees, making it easier to see the rabbits.

Tuvunger explained that it doesn’t take many newly released rabbits to do what rabbits are known for doing, much to the detriment of Stockholm’s efforts to control the size of its rabbit population.

“People who think that the bunnies are cute and cuddly suddenly don’t think they’re as fun anymore and put the animals outside. They think: ‘there they can play with the other rabbits’,” he said.

Some times it's good to just let people work it out. It's not like this thread was life or death.

Do you feel shame for hounding her? Can you prove your view that hs is not racist and his words were absolutely not said with a racist slant or out and out racist? No you can't.

No not racism, your just being condescending. And repetitive.

But the bigger picture is that anyone who calls that quote racist, is actually showing themselves to be racist.

Actually that is not nessessarily true. Especialy when even you do not know what was in his mind when he said it. I have neighbors that are racist and admit it, yet they act respectfully around blacks they work with and socialize with at church, but they are still racist.

Rush isn't completely stupid, he knows how far he can go. But still we don't know for an absolute fact that is or is NOT racist.

I'd have made damn sure it was tethered completely out of reach of the kids. These are small kids, one would think he would have taken more thought to securing it.

I do feel for them though, I would not want to be thinking how something I did was the cause of my kids death. I am hoping he was able to jump out before it took flight, just hoping he is not injured somewhere... ugh I would not want to be them right now.

The father is a storm chaser, you'd think he would have been more cautious, not leaving any way for those kids to get in it. I don't know if it could be considered child abuse, but certainly negligence, no?
