Old people driving cars????
|
|
My parents just had another car accident...my mom had one about a month ago...now my dad. He also bumps into things a lot.... They are old now...my mom is a young 87 and my dad is 85. My question is...When are you to old to drive anymore? I just don't want them to die in a crash or hurt anyone elsc... Take them to have their eyes tested,an if they don't pass, they can't drive. |

Shiny top Cobbler

5 or more cups fresh fruit (peaches, blueberries, cherries or apples)
2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup milk 1/2 cup margarine, softened 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 egg Topping: 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 1/2 cups boiling water Spread fruit (we've used the recipe for both cherries and a peach-blueberry combination) in well-greased 9-by-13-inch pan. If using apples, sprinkle them with cinnamon. In medium bowl, mix flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 cups sugar, milk, margarine (we used butter), baking powder and egg. Spread mixture over fruit. In small bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt and cornstarch. Sprinkle over batter, then pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over batter. Bake for 1 hour in 350-degree oven. |

The Washington Post ran this article about what is going on in my Town. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34459843/ns/us_news-washington_post/page/3/print/1/displaymode/1098/ I dont know how to post a active link to the forum, but I am sure you can copy and paste to read the article. I just want to add, that the woman near the end of the story remindes me of myself. I just never got any jewlery from my ex, not even a wedding ring, that I could pawn. What does a person do? Every one says to move, but I dont even have a clue where to move to. Is it any better anywhere else? I have never been this afraid in my life. If I dont get a job by end of January when my spousal support ends, I will most likely be on the streets looking for a empty spot under a bridge. Now, please understand, I am not doing this for pity, or money. I feel the need to state that I am a hard worker, and a very honest person. I just want a job. And no matter how many times I apply for one, I am not choosen. Thanks to everyone at mingle for understanding and allowing me to vent. |

I have some advice for the women (and I'm sure women will have even more advice for me) and the pictures they post in their profiles. There are a few rules that I think would be helpful, as a guy who has been on many single sites. 1. NO GLAMOUR SHOTS! These pics look phony, men want to see the real you. A picture in jeans and a t-shirt is worth 10 glamour shots. If you have multiple pics, then 1 glamour shot is ok. I mean, you paid for them, right? 2. NO MEN IN YOUR PICTURES! Again, if you show a guy next to you hugging you or whatever, the only thing a guy will think is that you are either not over your ex, or the guy is your current one. As with rule 1, however; as long as you have multiple pics, 1 with a guy in it is ok. (brothers, fathers, children accepted). 3. DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN ONE WOMAN IN THE PICTURE! (unless both come as a pair;) ). When there are 2 or more woman in the picture, a guy doesn't know which one of you is the one in the profile. I just skip those, too confusing for a simple guy. 4. SMILE!!!!! The importance of this cannot be understated. When you smile, you look prettier and you look like you actually want to be on the site. No smile, no interest. And the best smiles are natural. Think of a real funny joke and then snap the picture. 5. USE AT LEAST A 2 MP CAMERA! Those grainy shots are just too hard to tell what the woman (or guy for that matter) looks like. What's the point of posting a picture which is fuzzy or grainy? and last but not least 6. HAVE AT LEAST 1 PICTURE OF YOURSELF IN YOUR PROFILE! No picture, either you haven't mastered uploading pics to the internet, or you are trying to hide something. Either way, no pic, no second look. Following the above rules should help increase your chances of getting someone interested in you. You have to put yourself out there. Barring dangerous ex-boyfriends, husbands, being in the witness protection program, or whatever (which are legitimate reasons not to post a picture), post at least one. I hate RULES |

My favorite Poet, but the poem is definitely copyrighted and I think his estate frowns heavily on it's use when posted under someone else's name unless it's being used for educational purposes. In any event, he definitely wouldn't appreciate it, especially having his name spelled wrongly in the caption..... seriously if we all posted a poem from someone else, where would we have room to post...ugh I just posted the flowers,Hunny!!!! do you not see his name under the heading,it's in Bold print? |
