But I knew he was having trouble and each time we talked I told him my expectations and his punishment if he didn't meet them.. Then he'd do what he was supposed to and that was that... I shouldn't have believed him... Easy to say now, but we all want to believe our kids until it's proven we can't. As said, if this is out of character then certainly no reason to beat yourself up over it. But I damn well be you'll be calling from now on
