I LEARNT THIS WEEKEND THAT SOMETHING I SAID HAD HURTS SOMEONE AND I DID NOT EVEN KNOW OR REALIZED. I ASKED FOR THAT PERSON'S FORGIVENESS SO I SPEAK ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE.

how it burns,
this unquenchable flame
how it tears at my skin
how it peels the color away
how it takes away my day
and turns it into darkness
then into bitterness.
the call of distress
goes out on eager ears
as the words trickle down
and cause their hair to raise
as it breaks their hearts into pieces
like a rock that has left it's sling
like an arrow released from a string
like the words of a king
its deadly wounds can be seen
and no matter how you put it
it means what it means
hatred, anger, disgust
but it doesn't end there
in the ears you said it to
from that mouth hatred now finds you

Look at the butterfly as she spreads her wings
Taken to the air as the humming bird sings
Farewell my sweet morning due
As the sun comes out and licks up the rain
Is how much I’ll miss you
Flutter your wings Misses Butterfly
If I say I’ll be alright it’s because I lie
Trying to hide my broken heartedness
Showing the smile but hiding the rest
Don’t forget me as you travel the world
Humming the tunes of that lonely girl
Soaring high misses butterfly
I can see happiness in your eyes
Because you’ve found him
Now they meet together to fly away into the sunset
Leaving their cocoons behind
Cocoons of family, cocoons of friends, cocoons of life
Leaving for love
Goodbye my sister, goodbye my brother
Goodbye my father, goodbye my mother
Their leaving for love
Flutter your wings Misses Butterfly
If I say I’ll be alright its because I lie
And do avoid the raindrops of my tears as you fly
The hardest thing for me is saying
GOODBYE!!!

what's wrong with the youths of today?
why must they only do things in their own way?
why are they too stubborn to take advise?
even though it could saves them from a miserable life
why must they argue their point even when they're wrong?
Or try to fit into crowds they know they don't belong?
why do they swear, curse and call each other all sorts of names
then laugh and hug as if this was some sort of game
And finally why cant they learn to respect authority

And like a rock it hits me,
Once upon a time that was me

a headstrong, rebellious youth who needed more than YOUR words to understand
i needed to feel my experience to know that the choice was truly in my hands
now as a grown woman i look back
and consider, was experiencing pain really all that
would i have avoided life’s bumps if i had taken some advise
i'd maybe be a doctor, have a clean record, or even a wife
However, life's disappointments shouldn't leave you sour and under the weather
think of life as like a puzzle
And each experience are vital pieces but, you wont see it until you put it all together.

so youths of today and tomorrow
you have the right to lead or to follow
you have the right to live your life
you have the right to love or despise
but if you get old and have the chance to look back
was experiencing pain really all that?

At nights is when she steals away,To her chamber of sweat until the sun breaks the day,Haunted by the many faces she’s subdued,In park cars, under the trees, in the bedrooms, Since the age of twelve this is all she knows, First her father then her uncle that’s how the story goes,Racing her shadow as she steals away,Poor little lost soul till this very day.

He calls me when the sun dies and the moon rise
like a howling dog he calls my name
bitterly sweet i cant refuse
because i long for a touch his touch
salty sweat mingled with my tears
it hurts, my pain, I don’t care
he loves me if not only for the hour
as we move i can feel lust power
it almost feels like love
and as soon as it began it's over
he's dressed, out the door, I’m still under the cover
he's left me a gift to find my way home
what home? whose home? my home?
as i walk, the lights, still filled with ecstasy
all the face, all the people yet no one can rescue me
to the place where it all began 34th & Broadway
waiting for his whisper in the busy subway...

is it really as easy as they say
can i truly find love this way
i've tried the love letter thing
but if he's not romantic it's like hearing an opera sing.
lonely wont leave me alone so i cried me a river
but that only left me cold, wet, and in shivers
so i look for another alternative
to find a man who loves me for me and is attractive
so i used my telephone to call my telephone man
but i fell asleep twice and it only hurt my hand
why cant i find love when i'm ready to be faithful
and it hit me, stop looking and it will find you
wow, thats almost impossible to do
but i know this much GOD's words are always true
so i'll sit back with my head bow
as i ask GOD what now?
