Ahh... The hangover. I got home at 10 and could have gotten ****ty, but I drive a train and hangovers don't mix with that. I was a good boy. Drank 2 whiskey sours and played guitar. My most boring New Year in years.

To the porcelain god. I had to work New Years Eve and New Years Day, so he didn't get my prayers. What about you? How many of you proselytized to the cold unforgiving bowl?

That makes sense. Someone "decides" they are something else, so that makes it so. Could Darius be any more conceited to think he could change ancestry? Iranians consider themselves to be persians and have considered such for an incredibly long time. All people have changed ancestry, German is a made up identity, as is African, British, and so on. Darius I reign back in 500 BC. 2,500 years of calling their people persians suits well with me. :) And yet, as Steve pointed out, the Iranian Socialist Party considers themselves Aryan. |

Why should my freedom be judged by another man's conscience.
And: A mans face is his autobiography. A womans face is her greatest work of fiction. |

Yes, he writes fiction, but his books are amazing. He studies the cultures he writes about and uses a historical backdrop, as well as language to purvey his stories. I find it quite interesting that he spends so much time to research what he writes about. Same with "Shogun." Though it is a fictitious story, the culture is laid out perfectly, historically. Good Author. By the way, "Whirlwind" takes place in '79. During the upheavel when Khomeini takes over. It is an interesting look into the difference between Shia and Sunni.

LOL. No, I don't say so. History does. From the Caucus Mountains in Russia, down through Mongol, into Iran. Hence the term Agha Khan. Tripped me out too. I read the book, because of what's going on in the area, to glean a little history. Which led me to research of the area. Since the book was so interesting, I started another book by him entitled "Shogun."
