I only stated that i agreed with the original thread which pointed out these men were locked into something they did not agree to.. they signed up to serve for so many years. .their time is up.. they should be freed. It is a matter of honor there. I was taking no credit form any of these people. Indeed I have all kinds of respect for them for volunteering.. but I think our govenrment should be willing to let them go, when they have already met thier obligations and thier promises

i have no problems with the military, i may not agree with the war but i can understand why we're there. what pisses me off is all these people cutting pasting this government bashing crap with no real thoughts of their own. i may not like bush that much but the man was voted into office, he deserves the support of his country. you may not have voted for him, i didn't, but the plain and simple fact of it is, it's not all his fault, every problem this country has is not his doing. congress does their fair share, democrats have theirs as well and republicans, independants, the military and every other organization and office the government has to offer has all made their fair share of mistakes and cuased just as many problems as the rest. if you ask me were the blame should be placed it's with the american people. no matter who made what mistake and who voted for who every single person on these threads has voted for somebody that screwed sh!t up at some point. stop complaining about who is in office and worry about who is going to be in office next. stop bashing obama, hillary and mccain. you don't like your choices vote for one of the lesser known independants running instead. it's not like those 3 are your only choices. stop voting for the little r or d next to their name and use your heads for once. the only way anything will ever change in this country is if WE change it, not them. so stop placing blame with these idiotic cut and paste threads and start doing something about it. all very well spoken. but there is no bashing of anyone on this thread that I saw. I would say that I never thought this war was right or wrong.. but I am not stupid and I do remember when it happened EVERYONE was for it.. regardless of the reasons, the politics.. the bull****.. all were behind this thing we did.. and blaming and pointing fingers is not the answer. |

war is. it always was. Though I would not argue with you, Your politics. I would argue this. IT does nott matter if they are deluded.. They believe.. and a person should never be punished for thier beliefs. I was never in a war zone, but I did serve for most of my life. I would not agree with this last statement of yours. it is no war that steals humanity and sanity.. it is greed and the seduction of power... it is the realization that things are not as they seem.. it is many things.. shattered illusions.. broken realities.. all of that steals humanity and sanity... war is a result of that, not the cause.

ah.. but people do join.. and they will.. because they are looking for purpose and reason in an insane world..because of many different reasons and purposes.. BUT they do.. and in having made that decision, they live up to the responsiblity they sign up for.. and the government should in return live up to the same.
A prisoner does a crime.. he gets tried and convicted.. he repays society.. A military member does an honor, a duty or a responsiblity.. he is raped by society.. There is a huge difference here.. but the original writer is correct.. They are prisoners.. and they were never criminals |

Wow, now if this isn't sensationalism, I don't know what is. Comparing the U.S. military to a prison? Yeah, because, you know, they threaten to kill you nowadays if you refuse to sign up! Oh wait, now I remember, it's a volunteer force. Also, this kid is a moron and should have never been let into the military, "I almost took out a 6-year-old boy. I almost killed someone's son." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You're in a warzone, chief. Your job is to kill or be killed. If you can't grasp that concept then you probably shouldn't be in the military, period. What if that kid really did have an AK? I'm sure he would've thought the same for you!
