I agree I just hate to see my girls hurt. It is better on them this way, they don't have to see the fights and anger.
I took a chance and it blew up in my face. |

I'm saying that the problem with this country is lack of respect and honor! I 100% agree with you. I have never gotten anything for free, or been given a free pass! I demand respect, and I give respect! The point is we fought for the freedom's everyone else enjoys. And we come home to people disrespecting us for our serving! So we help you to have freedom and we are condemned for it.
Having never been allowed to serve, I wouldn't know what you are hearing about having served. However, I have talked to my Dad about when he returned home from Viet Nam. I may not have experienced it, but I do know about it. You are saying it's ok to bash a solider, because you have the freedom to do so. But who gave you the freedom you to be able to speak your mind? I have been place's you would be whipped, your tongue cut out or even be killed for speaking your mind.
Uh uh. Stop right there. I never said, in ANY way, that soldier bashing was ok. You referred to me twisting your words when I wasn't doing that. Don't try to twist mine to suit yourself. Had I seen ANYONE bashing a soldier, I would have instantly stepped in and defended the soldier in question. I know the things my Dad has told me about what he went through. I have the freedom to speak my mind because of my Dad and many thousands like him. I know that, and I appreciate it. What I did see was a soldier coming in here after someone had stated her opinion, and berating her for stating that opinion. I'm sorry, but that was disrespectful. The person who stated the opinion said nothing bad about ANY soldier. So please do not try to twist what I'm saying here to you agenda.
I was not trying to do that in any way, shape, or form. You can read my words any way you choose. That's your right. Those who know me know that I say exactly what I mean and I don't twist anyone else's words to suit my needs. I have plenty of words of my own that I can use. Well first off thank your dad for me! I think that I took what you were saying wrong. I'm just so damn tired of people disrespecting me and my brothers and sisters. I did not serve to get a ty or a guest spot on Letterman! I served to serve my county, and the travel wasn't bad either! I guess what I'm saying is the lack of respect in this country for soldiers is terrible! |

I so agree with this..Before anyone bashes me for not being military I have buried many family members my uncle also served Nam and was a pow for 3 years. We also lost family in 9/11. I will also state there is to many inconsistencies in this story. I was married to a Sgt. Major. I know military Protocal very well. So I am asking respectively for a link to be provided to the Newspaper article itself. I will always respect the military. No one gives me the right of my opinion. Being born in the UNITED STATES gives me that right. LOL this is the problem! Thinking the country gives you the right to have an opinion. I have really heard it all now! Thank you MR. rock for my freedom? lol |

I think most of you have missed the point here! I'm an ex-army ranger, and I left friends and blood on foreign soil more than once! The point to all this is without the American solider there would be no America! So remember when you get mad and start typing things here, there is one reason you have the freedom to do so, the American solider!
The problem is everyone sits at home or goes to work and never thinks of who gave them the freedom's they so freely enjoy. Its about respect for your fellow man! Soldiers are a rare breed or everyone would serve. So think before you post, and respect someone who stood between you and everyone that wants to destroy this country. And you might even go as far as to thank a solider for doing something you would not do! |
