I have seen the wrapping they used to do at the malls and stores. That was horrible and not presentable to anyone. And rarely did they use paper or ribbon which looked even nice or that the two even went together.

I love to wrap. I make most of the bows I use out of the wrapping paper and ribbon I use on the present. The ribbon goes with the wrapping paper. And I try to make a bow to go with the person receiving the present. Some people are not easy to do that with, but some people are too easy to make bows for.

My presents do give me away as the gifter, so when it comes to Secret Pals and such, I use bags for that most of the time. But even my bagged gifts aren't that plain.
