oh for Pete's sake scared

Just ask her out. Fresh start.

Don't mention anything you've texted. No questions about the "not yet relationship" future. Way too early to start that.

Enjoy yourself until you don't. smile2

Women say that because they want to get to know you. The best relationships starts AS BEING FRIENDS, allowing love to grow organically, NOT TRYING to put the relationship in a box with definitions.

Maybe it's a coworker.
Even if it's her bf, you could still walk over to say hello. No big deal.

You're missing the point.

Anything YOU or anyone else says helps them. Period.

You may not be fooled, but someone else on Mingle might be. And it may be because of something YOU said.

You can stay in denial about it if you want, but I'm telling the reality of it.

your post starting the insults, not me.

I am not missing the point of my viewpoint. scared
I am not in denial.

My viewpoint won't change. You can do whatever you need to do to feel safe.

I first read it as NASA sex --okay! Johnson Space Center is just down the road. An astronaut would be great!

NSA is also the National Security Agency, the United States cryptologic organization that coordinates and directs highly specialized activities to protect United States information systems and to produce foreign intelligence information.

So you want to date one of those agents?

Sure. I would like being with a spy winking

I agree with "ciretom".

The pervs to worry about are teachers, extracurricular activity leaders, friends' parents, and their own kids taking it upon themselves to go to websites they have no business on >> parent's lack of oversight.

back in 1998, I caught my oldest, 11 yo (she was claiming 16), was in a chat, with some guy claiming 19 yo

I shut that down fast and warned her about any future shenanigans. shades

I was the computer administrator and had access to my 3 kids accounts.

she was po'd that I spied on her. I told her that was my job.

That's ridiculous. Your logic is based on a false premise.

What I'm trying to figure out is why you're getting so defensive about it?

I wasn't singling anybody out, but making a general statement because many people on Mingle don't know what I do about scammers. I try to help people on the matter in one of the few ways that I'm actually allowed to within the forum rules, and somehow someone has to get all upset over it? Makes me question why.

Logic based on fact. I'm not defensive, just answering. General statements can cause unwarranted worry.

I'm not upset, I have a different opinion.

Have you been/are you an experienced scammer to know what they do and don't do?

I've never had a scammer do anything in 13 yrs of regular online forum sites. And I certainly can't guess what someone is thinking/motivations are on the other end, besides the obvious scammers.

My sky isn't falling.

They are phishing for info....to find better targets....or improve their come-on to the unwary targets.

So basically, no matter how you reply, you're actually helping the scammers. You may not think so, but you are.

Trust me, I know how they think.

I didn’t realize this, guess I’m a dumbass. Someone actually used info that I posted in a thread to have something in common with me. It took me a couple of days to click in my head.

You're not a dumbass. Irrational paranoia is a waste of time. Don't worry about it.
