Should married people Mingle when their spouses do not know?
What exactly would be their motivation?
Is it morally ok? I see a lot of people complaining about their relationships, yet here they are on a dating site???

Let me hear your opinion...

It doesn’t sit well with me but it would be interesting to hear from those married people.

If their spouses were ok with it, sure. Once I was married and Mingled on the forums, he trusted me and had my password.

I somehow don’t think the majority of spouses know their partners are on dating sites.

Years ago I met 2 guys and neither of them told me they were married. That says it all. I caught out the first one and the second guy admitted it on the 3rd date. I think they were just after a bit on the side.

I noticed a wedding ring on a man who messaged me. So I asked him. Yup, he was married. At least he was honest with me when confronted. But I bet his devoted wife and children have no idea he is Mingling.
It saddens my heart.

What I don’t understand is when those who are married say they’re looking to date on their profiles. How can that work? You’d need to be leading 2 lives surely.

It is most definitely NOT OKAY if their spouse doesn't know. If their spouse knows and it's okay then it should be noted on their profile. Dishonest married people need to be b***h slapped.

I had a couple married guys claim their wife knew they were looking and had given them permission to screw around..
I said "Ok, that's great, let me talk to her so I can ask her a few things..."

Never heard from them again...laugh laugh laugh

PROBLEMATIC IN SO MANY WAYS....MARRIED MEANS YOU ARE EMOTIONALLY, AND

PHYSICALLY COMMITTED TO YOUR OTHER HALF.....A LACK OF MATURITY ON THE MARRIED

PERSON DOING IT.....IF THERE IS A NEED NOT BEING MET THEY NEED TO TALK TO

THERE OTHER, USING I STATEMENTS.....ITS IMPORTANT TO BE OPEN AND HONEST ABOUT

EVERYTHING, ITS SUPPOSED BE A TEAM.....I HAD IT HAPPEN TO ME,LETS JUST SAY IT

IT WILL TAKE A WHILE FOR THE PAIN TO GO AWAY....

That sucks. Betrayal in marriage is not always physical. The deceit ruins all trust.

Marriage is not a science that is right and wrong, it is a work of art.
that two people helped create with trust.
Cheating is a betrayal or a harsh assault on one another, it’s wrong and unacceptable

I must admit it doesn’t sit well with me either. If you are on Mingle2 just for the forums, then why not be honest with your partner and let them see what you are doing. If not then it may mean they are looking for some extra marital fun whether that be sexting or meeting up for fun .... both are a betrayal.

If somebody is complaining about their relationship, then end it as an affair won’t change what’s going on in the marital home.

My opinion is that they should not do this, but I am sure it happens.

The way I see it, marriage problems are difficult to handle.
People get lost in depression and seek comfort in others.
Not every married person on a dating site is looking to hook-up.
Some are seeking council on a decision they feel they have no alliances to talk to within the marriage circle of friends and relatives.

Some want to 'see' how other people deal with their heartache to determine if their examples might help them deal with their own.

Some have already made up their minds and are looking at the potential selections.

Some have issues with their divorces which prolong their final split.

Someone willing to cheat, will probably not select 'married' as their status.
Selecting 'married' may just be a declaration of honesty up front.

For some reason its common for people to group 'all' under a stereotype.
Reality doesn't work in stereotypes. Every person is unique.

Personal wisdom might cause some people to stereotype people into likelihood groups. Mainly because they have experienced similar traits from other who demonstrate that particular behavior.
Some people 'read into' others what they expect and fail to see the actual person themselves.
Others look at the specific person and 'see' the actual person.

Personally, I've met all types of people online which have 'married' as a status. Some are cheaters, some are not. However, you can only determine who is and who is not by the information they give you.

Plus, you can build friendships with married people. Doesn't mean you have to enter into a love affair with them. Sometimes, they just need a friend. Sometimes they put 'seeking intimate encounter' because they want to talk to someone about intimate things bothering them.

Morals are all well and good as long as they do not create conflict and judgement . We all have different values and moral codes but that does not give us any right to inflict our own standards on others .

As is often stated in the forums ... Mingle is considered a social networking site not just a dating site . There are many reasons other than dating that inspire people to join . The site does not ban those who are married . If anyone has a moral issue or any other reason that they do not wish to interact with married people there is a filter that you can select .

@luca .. I adore your contributions to the forum and as far as I am concerned you are always very welcome here  waving

I've come across a shocking nr of married men on various dating sites. And that's the ones who have that info in their profile. Then there's the ones that don't say it.
Plenty of reason to be cautious.

I've talked to a few and asked them about it. They say their marriage has gone stale. Reason for not divorcing that they come up with vary. Kids are still young. When they're older I'll divorce. Feeling sorry for the wife or saying they still love the wife, and so on.
In other words, BS.

I've never dated one that was married or involved. I'm not interested in an unavailable man, nor in one who doesn't have the baws to simply divorce when a marriage has past its sell-by date.

There is a difference between married and separated. The topic is married people in a commited marriage who do not let their spouses know they are on a dating site.

It is deceitful.
