For language purposes, there should be an “I.”

That depends on what language that you are using.

In India we have a saying, 'You are what you eat'

I am a vegetarian ---> when I relish a mango or a chilled tomato

Anything incompletely understood in life, by a person, or even the scientific community, is a miracle. God keeps people openminded by revealing miracles in what would otherwise be an inanimate world.

OMO (One Man's Opinion), there is a flaw in the philosophy that we exist because we think. Reality gets in the way.
It has to do with relativity and perception.

If a tree falls in the forest but nobody is around to hear it does it make a sound.
By relative perception it does not but from a reality perspective it does.
Sound requires a medium to propagate. Sound is a wave which affects the medium as it radiates outward. Since the tree fell in air, it does make a sound.
If the tree fell in space, it would make a sound in any medium it vibrated but since there is no air it wouldn't radiate over a larger distance.
If you have a person with no auditory organs at all and stand them in the forest alone and a tree falls behind them they will 'feel' the sound wave hit them.

So if you have a person that cannot think, they still exist.
They still have mass which interacts with other things in their environment.
People in vegetative states, comas and even our dead people have mass and environmental displacement. If they are laying on the floor in front of you in a dark room, you can trip over them. They still exist.

From a self-perception point of view.
Much of our own personality is a manifestation of fantasy but there is evidence that even a personality manifestation is malleable.
Amnesia, dementia and other brain malfunctions can make you lose your programmed self-identity.
However, the affected person still exists. Still has mass, displacement and radiates/absorbs heat.

Then there is the argument of discovery.
If thinking is relative to existing, nothing new would ever be discovered.
Physical sciences which develop real world technology based on molecular combinations would not exist because we could not see atomic arrangements and had no idea they existed until we discovered the world of the very small.
Most people have no idea how plastic molecules arrange or how the molecules stay together yet we all have plastic products in our lives right now.

This is because reality is reality whether there is anyone there to think about it or not.
We bend and blend our existence to fit within the reality, its not the other way around.
We try to change reality to fit our perceptions but it never works for long because reality is always there and our perceptional delusions are not reality.

Reality is final.
Reality is cold and stark.
It doesn't care and it isn't open to suggestion.
That fact scares the crap out of us.

So we invent little lies to make reality softer and easier to cope with.
We build delusions to cover up and warm up our perception of reality.
As long as circumstances align with our delusions, reality seems to go along but eventually, reality shows thru those delusions because reality is real and delusions are not.

Ok, you make sense & I understand what you mean about still existing while in a coma...Although my thought is slightly different concerning the tree.
What I can't grasp us creating our own reality & being delusional.

Anyway, self reflection and mindfulness should be something, everybody should look at. We might be a victim of circumstances, but it is up to ourselves to stand up for ourselves.

What I can't grasp us creating our own reality & being delusional.

Perhaps this will help....

First, try not to see 'delusion' as always a bad thing.

You can think of delusion as the associations you place on objects or actions which give you comfort but in reality are merely objects and actions.

Your favorite blanket, pillow, room, job, food, meal to make, car, and so on...
These favorite objects and actions distort the reality so you feel comfortable while using, possessing or performing them.
The cold reality is those objects and actions are just a blanket, pillow, room or job.
The delusion is the comfort you place in these objects and actions which make reality easier to cope with.

The delusional connection we create with these objects and actions manifest in a separate, personal reality.
My car won't start, it must be mad at me today.
My computer won't start it must be sick today.
My car no longer likes me, I need to find a different car.

In such delusional states of mind, we fail to see the reality.
My car won't start because the battery is bad, I need to buy another battery.
The reason why the battery went dead has nothing to do with how that inanimate object 'feels'.

If someone visits your home to sell you insurance and you invite them in, they see a pillow on the sofa and to them, its just a pillow but to you it is the pillow your first born son cradled as a baby. That pillow means nothing except as a pillow to the visitor.
They see the reality and you see a delusional connection with that reality. That connection makes the pillow more than reality, it has meaning to you. You created that reality by association and support that reality with delusion. You get comfort from its presence in your life. But...Its still just a pillow.

There's a common delusion in society which makes people believe we are not animals. Our capacity for intellect, emotional awareness and imagination, our awareness of the passage of time and a grasp of future, present and past, our empathy and industrious discipline, even our socialistic nature makes us believe that because we think, we exist.
Yet the planet is covered with all sorts of animals which exist yet do not have our mental capacity.

As far as we know, a tree does not think, yet trees exist.
As far as we know, rocks don't think, yet they exist.

We assume so much under the guise of delusion we often lose track of actual reality.
The delusional realities we create have consequences in actual reality.

I don't necessarily have to 'am', to think, nor have to think to 'am'.

As a spirit bodyless entity, thinking could not be impossible.
A human head/brain would condition and restrict thinking to only in a certain way, like an organic data filter. Without it, logic and order should prevail more often.
I hope I'm a lot smarter when free of the human conditions.

Sometimes I think someone else thinks for me when I speak, and I just channel it, and try to make sense of it later after I have said it. Someone else is 'amming' and hijacking me; ?
I think it is true, when not under human conditions we have full use of our brain capacity, I really believe that.
As far as being high jacked. Is it really far fetched? They've been talking about possession for centuries. We're still cavemen in our understanding of a lot of things.

To 'create' reality means to have manipulative control over the laws of physics and quantum mechanics. No one is god.

If you can do that, then everything really is a delusion, because no one on Earth can 'bend the rules' at will.

But then the supposition of having that power may be the result of a deeper delusion, which is a natural expression of the laws of physics and quantum mechanics on your brain, in that 'condition', at that time. You don't actually have control, but coincidence and delusion combine to give the illusion of control.

Maybe we are mere puppets in a fake world which can be and is manipulated or controlled from another level, and they do things to trick and baffle us.
Where does ESP come from; the truths that psychic seers see ahead of time; where do ghosts live; where do our own precognitive dreams and prophetic dreams come from ?

We already have a 0.3 second delay in what we see, due to synaptic lag time slowing signals, but we think we see things instantly - we don't. What else don't we really do when we think we did ? Shades of The Matrix.

Did I just write that ? Or was I just the stylus ?
