Topic: Dowsers, who or what is in control ? | |
---|---|
I can dowse for water using two (or one) piece of eg. fencing wire about 18 inches long with a 4 or 5 inch handle bent 90 degrees at one end. Held loosely to swing freely horizontally, and then traverse ground fast or slow, keeping flat and smooth and steady. Then before my eyes and not under my control, my fists rotate causing the wires to converge by gravity, over water.
My brain controls my hands, but it doesn't know where the water is, and something else with remote control apparently does. An innate and little used ancient power of ours, or are we puppets ? And no it's not the work of the devil. What causes a hand to make a pendant converge on particular points on a map ? The eyes see the map, the brain makes sense of it, and guides the hand, but how can it know the location of a thing on an abstract man made map, from an enormous distance away, without ever having been there on the ground ? I wonder ! |

If you are looking for a possible scientific reason why something like that might happen, I can suggest one.
The dowser them self, senses the water, through subtle variations in the area due to the presence of the water. So they twitch their own hands accordingly. I don't know, of course. I only know that it is always being discovered that our sensory mechanisms are more capable and subtle than we used to assume. Who knows, maybe it has to do with the electric aspects of living beings. In other words, there is probably no "remote control" involved. It's very direct sense and response. |

It does seem to be a commonly reported phenomena. I've never needed it myself as, so far, the mains supply is fine and there's a river nearby in case of emergency I suppose. Nevertheless, I've no reason to disbelieve those who say that it works. Like the previous poster, I suspect that we are sensitive to the change in the electromagnetic environment caused by running water.

i bought a pair of those rods. its has maybe a 2 inch 90% bent angle you hold onto while the other 18 inches just hang. when you get near water, which having livestock we run water lines from the Main to each pasture/barn, the hanging 18 inch portions begin swerving left and right. and as soon as you are directly over the water, those rods will overlap and cross one another making an X formation.
many years ago, people who believed in the natural powers and magic used similar rods to trick the peoples. maybe they found water and suddenly was looked as a great wizard or witch. how it actually works, i do not know. but it does work, that much i do know!! |

Not entirely sure to be honest. I got dowsing rods and pendulums, I use both at times.
But you say the brain controls the hand making the movements. I don't think I agree with that. I have for instance seen a pendulum hanging diagonal over a space with negative energy. No way can you make it do that with your hand. When I use the dowsing rods I do not move my hands either. The rods just move by themselves. You can also buy rods with covers over the part you hold in your hand so no way muscles in the hand can make it go somewhere or not. I have paid close attention to it, to see if you flick the wrist a bit, but I do not. Yet the rods can go way to the left or right or make a full cross, while other times it's not that extreme. In any case, I'm not entirely sure how it works. I do feel the body is involved in 'translating' but then it would again suggest you move it yourself. I may think about it when I'm fresh. It's quite late. |

Like the previous poster, I suspect that we are sensitive to the change in the electromagnetic environment caused by running water. It's not used for finding water per say. I have used them to find for instance negative energy. You can focus on electro magnetic stuff, or other like a vortex which many can be found both indoors and outdoors. Also Hartmann, curry lines and Leylines can be found and so on. I have also used the rods to get answers to questions as I find them easier to hold/use than a pendulum. |

I observed that the wrists turn (rotate) inward over water, and over some other things, so the angle to horizontal changes, and the wire's ends swing to the lower side, both crossing over at the water. Walking backward they separate again.
When a guy that can't do it himself watched me, he said "see, your hands are tilting", and they were, despite my belief and feeling that I was holding them (hands) perfectly vertical and steady. Muscles hold position, or tilt, but I'm not consciously moving any arm, wrist or hand muscles, they are (seemingly) locked rigid to keep the wires parallel and horizontal. And even if I was consciously swinging the wires and crossing them, which would be a waste of time, I have no idea where any ground water is outside of pipes. It's like an aetheric control of my hands' rotation, from elsewhere. A parallel universe with some reaching through with wifi apps, allowing / making us to do weird things. |

Nothing is in control because its all the dowsers imagination. Dowsing does not work. There have been many test and many investigation and all of them proved it is a complete fraud. If you claim you can do it then the James Randy foundation will give you a million dollars if you can prove it, So what are you waiting on go make yourself a millionaire.

Back in the late 60's we used to try to use dowsing rods (to see what happens).
It was all hit or miss and of my friends and I nobody had a success rate over 50%. What happened is we quickly got tired of it and threw the rods away. We also played with Ouija boards, held seances tried levitation but got tired of all that too. Children have a knack for sensing reality. None of my friends or I were subject to constant mystical influence by our elders. Basically, we experimented and found it to be nonsense and abandoned it in favor of real-world activities. "Most" of the Earth's land mass has what is called Aquifers. Sub-surface water reservoirs from the water cycle. If dowsing actually worked, it would constantly detect water. Not to mention the human body is comprised of around 60% water and some organisms have up to 90% water. Hell, plants have about 70% water so you should be constantly detecting water with those rods. |

There's a trustworthy individual if ever there was one. |

To test your dowsing skills:
Go to the center of the nearest desert but bring no water, just your dowsing rods and a shovel. Walk home. |
