being a wrestler all thru my school years 2nd grade thru 12th and having friends that boxer its anyones match but my money is on the wrestler we know how to avoid hand and to get in close and get the take down where a boxer its not comfortable and can be easily controled by a wrestler

Depends on the area they're fighting in as well. The more space that a boxer has to work with, the more likely the fight will go his way.

In all likelihood though, if the boxer doesn't land a damaging punch very quickly, it'll go to the wrestler.

Seeing as I just saw a fight like this tonight in women's mma......the wrestler. She dominated on the ground and it got her a win in the end, the boxer came close though....almost had her at the very end if not for the bell.

Gotta say I might not have seen this coming out of you though msharmony lol. laugh

It would be a difficult one though. However, a boxer has the upper hand. Their blow is very deadly and that of a wrestler can't really knock a boxer out (Big show is an exception..lol). Come to think of it, don't you see that others are so cautious of his finishing blow? That blow is a boxers blow and that's the reason they never let it happen.

My vote would go to the boxer. They are trained to avoid someone trying to get their hands on them. If the boxer was quick they could land deadly blows very fast. If a wrestler gets his hands on you game over.

Equal gifts the wrestler wins. I've seen great boxers and great wrestlers and respect both disciplines. Had a friend in high school who was on the wrestling team and played football. He had been taking Kenpo lessons for a few months and nearly broke another friends ribs sparring. One day at the mall a couple of guys started up with him and instead of a devastating Kenpo strike he cradled one guy nearly squashing him. The guy begged to be let go and the fight was done.- Besides Anderson Silvas losses were to submission wrestling holds on the pro level. Not a streetlight but the grass leans the same direction.

I will go with the boxer if he can keep the wrestler on his feet

If they hit the floor the wrestler will make it short work

The wrestler has get the boxer to the ground and make him submit whereas the boxer only needs one shot.

Submit? In a brawl?
I'll bet on the wrestler.

Highly unlikely. Most fights (especially brawls) go to the floor anyway. Grapplers and extremely comfortable on the floor. Check out one of the Gracies on youtube. Insanely powerful. There's a vid there of Hoyce forcing a 500 lb sumo wrestler to tap out (and he was underneath the sumo! noway smokin ). eta: here's the Gracie vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POJ2T023M4I
