I have high hopes for this film.
JW2 started to darken.
I liked Battle at Big Rock.
Hopefully JW3 will be more in line with the horror story Michael Crichton intended.

I am aware that the studio and production company must release a product which appeals to a large audence because of the costs involved, it gives the JP/JW a family appeal...BUT...

To see a big budget dinosaur horror movie would be a real treat.
Plus, I hope they change that gawd-awful theme music.

Regardless of its dumbing down for wide distribution and the PG rating, I too am looking forward to it. Tho It should be shot with an intention of an R rating. I mean dinosaurs attacking and eating people was always intended to be horrific. Making it family friendly kinda ruins the intention.

Sometimes simple & easy is better...

Potato Cakes


Ingredients

2 cups chilled mashed potatoes (see Note)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for dredging
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt/salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper/pepper


Directions

Divide the mashed potatoes into 8 equal portions. Use your hands to form 1/2-inch thick patties.

Heat the oil with the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until almost smoking. Mix the flour with the salt and pepper in a pie plate. Coat the potato patties in the flour mixture. Add the potato cakes to the pan and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook until they have formed a golden crust, 15 to 20 minutes. (Peek underneath using a spatula before turning.) Turn and cook the other side until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Season with additional salt and pepper and serve hot.


Note

Make mashed potatoes from the "innards" of the Garlic Roasted Potato Skins by mashing them with 1/2 cup hot milk and 4 tablespoons of softened, unsalted butter. Don't forget to season them with salt and pepper! Chill the mashed potatoes overnight for the best results.



Beat the egg.
Mix the beaten egg with the mashed potatoes.
Stir in the dry ingredients.
Add the milk and mix well.
The batter should be very thick.

Spoon batter into the skillet to form 3" to 3-1/2" inch wide pancakes, about 1/2" thick.
Brown on one side, over medium heat. Turn and brown on the other side.

Koolaid Pie

1 pack of Koolaid
-Mixed Berry
-Cherry
-Fruit Punch
-Berry Blue
-Strawberry
-etc...

1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

1 Tub of Whipped Cream

1 Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Mix the koolaid with the condensed milk then mix in the whipped cream.
Pour into pie crust and refridgerate for at least 1 hour.
Top with fresh fruit if desired.

Coleslaw

½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon salt

Whisk mayonnaise, sugar, lemon juice, vinegar, pepper, and salt together in a bowl until smooth and creamy.

Mix it into the salad of your choice (I use shredded cabbage and carrots)

Scalloped Potatoes

3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 cups milk
6 cups thinly sliced potatoes

Preparation:
In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat; stir in flour until smooth and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper. Gradually add milk, stirring until thick and bubbly. Add sliced potatoes to the sauce. Cover and simmer over low heat for 8 minutes.
Transfer mixture to a greased 12x8-inch baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 45 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.

Apple Crisp

For the crumb topping:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
dash of salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter ,cut into small pieces

For the Apple filling:

3-4 large Granny Smith apples , peeled and thinly sliced
3 Tablespoon butter , melted
2 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
3 Tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
dash of salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

For the topping:

In a medium size bowl combine the crumb topping ingredients with a fork or pastry blender until it resembles small crumbs. Refrigerate while you prepare the apple filling.

For the Apple Filling:

In a small bowl, combine melted butter and flour until well blended. Add lemon juice, milk and vanilla and stir well. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

Pour butter mixture over apples and toss to coat. Pour apple mixture into an 8x8-inch baking dish and spread into an even layer.

Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over the apples.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and top is set.

Remove from oven and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Being your utlility wagon, you can probably clean it out and make it driveable without restoring much at first, then...slowly restore the pretty stuff.

I once sat on a 5 gallon pail and steered with a set of vice grips on the steering shaft for a few weeks.
I've driven cars without dash, carpeting and inner door panels.

You can probably find some gauges at a junk yard that can work.
Replace what you need for the car to drive and worry about the pretty later, that way you get your workhorse back.

From what I see, it looks like the Marriage Strike is a culturally sanctioned public protest against their country's efforts to make marriage rape a crime.

I'm completely dumbfounded how any group would publically protest in favor of keeping such a disgraceful practice. As if it is their "Right" to rape their spouses?

Granted, in the States we publically protest many things. Rape of any kind is never favorably protested. Prostitute rights but never rape!

While I can understand different countries having different cultures and traditions, rape is not what I call a cultural tradition. Its like backward, opposite thinking to a civilized world.
